The IPIS team held the first meeting of the platform created to promote the study of the Romanian and Gagauz languages \u200b\u200bin ATU Gagauzia.<\/p>\n

The platform included representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Moldova, Bashkan of ATU Gagauzia, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and deputies of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Agency for Interethnic Relations, the General Directorate of Education of Gagauzia, local authorities, rectors of state universities, representatives of civil society, the Council on equality, development partners, as well as local and international experts.<\/p>\n

The meeting participants shared their assessments of the situation around the study of the Gagauz and Romanian languages \u200b\u200bin the autonomy, and also made a number of proposals. The IPIS team will have to systematize the information received and pass it on to specialized local and international experts to start working on a concrete action plan for the development of multilingual education in Gagauzia.<\/p>\n

The meeting of the platform took place within the framework of the project \u201cPromotion of social cohesion in Moldova through the study of the Gagauz and Romanian languages \u200b\u200bin ATU Gagauzia\u201d. The project is carried out thanks to funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Moldova and the Soros Foundation in Moldova.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the project is to support the preservation of the Gagauz language and culture, as well as, through the study of the state language, to promote the maximum involvement of the inhabitants of the autonomy in social processes and in governing the country.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
