The Republic of Moldova is currently in the screening stage of the agricultural sector and in the process of aligning the legislative framework with that of the European Union. This process requires local producers to begin adjusting their production processes to meet the new EU standards.
The current situation of the agricultural sector, in the context of Moldova’s EU accession process, was discussed during the Rezoomat program, broadcast on RealitateaTV. Below you can find a selection of comments made during the discussion by the program’s guests: Ina Butucel, Deputy Secretary General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry; Nicolae Tîltu, Director of the National Farmers’ Federation; and Tatiana Nistorică, member of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister and IPIS agriculture expert.
The initiative “CAPACITY4EU – Civil Society for EU Accession” brought together representatives of civil society, local authorities, and public institutions in Florești on May 26 for a Policy Dialogue. The event is part of a national series of regional dialogues aimed at promoting civic participation and informing local communities about the EU accession process of the Republic of Moldova.
In the face of a rapidly changing global security architecture, EU leaders have decided to increase their military spending in order to be self-reliant in their security matters. Moldova also needs to take seriously the growing risks to its security and the EU is ready to help. But a number of public voices are scaring people with a looming war and the fact that if Moldova modernises its military capabilities it would allegedly undermine its neutral status.
The CAPACITY4EU initiative hosted a Policy Dialogue in Taraclia, bringing together civil society activists, youth leaders, local officials, and mayors from surrounding communities to address Moldova’s path toward European Union integration.
This event provided a platform for open and inclusive debate on Moldova’s strategic direction in the current complex geopolitical context. Participants engaged in robust discussions on both the opportunities and challenges associated with the EU accession process.
A new edition of the #CAPACITY4EU Policy Dialogue was held on February 8th in Ciadîr-Lunga, bringing together young people and local public authorities. The event, organized in partnership with the Center for Civic Initiatives for National Minorities, provided a platform for open discussions on the challenges and opportunities Moldova faces on its path to European Union accession.
The Exchange Lab, an event dedicated to civil society representatives from Germany and the Republic of Moldova, took place in Chisinau on 12 December. The exchange contributed to an informed dialogue about the Republic of Moldova in the areas of EU communication, migration, foreign policy and countering disinformation. It also offered the opportunity for further networking between German and Moldovan civil society.
