The participants in our fourth regional dialogue with citizens, which we carry out within the “EU in Moldova: Perceptions and reality” programme, had the opportunity to share their assessments on Moldova’s relations with the European Union, while IPIS, IPRE and IEP dispel some myths about EU.
Brussels and EU countries support both small and large projects. Grigorii Kissa, a young entrepreneur from Comrat, was able to purchase equipment for his heating briquette workshop in 2017 with EU support. Today his business is developing successfully and he even plans to expand it.
One of the advantages of the Association Agreement is closer cooperation with the EU, and thus a larger volume of grant aid. For example, Armenia, which has not signed such an agreement with the EU, receives from the EU half as much financial resources per capita for the development of local projects as Moldova. During the last 15 years Moldova has received from the EU 1 billion Euros in the form of grant aid.

The participants of our second regional dialogue with citizens, held within the “EU in Moldova: Perceptions and Realities” programme, were able to share their opinions on Moldova’s relations with the European Union and to find out how they can access the European funds.
How do we perceive the European Union and what does our cooperation really mean? What does the association with the EU envisage and what possibilities does this agreement offer for Moldova? How to get access to European funds? How does the European Union affect the observance of human rights and ethnic communities in Moldova? These and other questions were discussed with the citizens of Basarabeasca during our first regional dialogue, which took place in the framework of the program “EU in Moldova: Perceptions and Reality”.
On June 13, 2019, the CIVID Closing Conference “Towards Social Cohesion in the Republic of Moldova: Designing inclusive policies to strengthen inter-ethnic relations” took place in Chişinău, jointly organized by the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP), the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE).
The Institut für Europäische Politik based in Berlin (IEP), in partnership with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) organized on May 24-25, the second regional dialogue in the framework of the project “Promoting civil society and interethnic dialogue in the Republic of Moldova in the context of the EU association process (CIVID)”.
IPIS met with participants of the second edition of the “Leadership Academy”, founded with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). This year we divided the Academy course into two parts. In the first issue, from May to June, the focus will be on issues of public administration. The cadets of the Academy will take part in practical exercises, meet with politicians, community leaders and employees of state structures, as well as visit several regions of the country: Gagauzia and Transnistria. In the autumn edition of the Academy, emphasis will be placed on e-democracy and e-guvernance practices.
