The first speaker of the program was Olga Melniciuc, an expert in access to financial resources, who talked about how to empower women economically through fundraising and project management.
About 40% of Moldova’s population receives information from social networks, which, however, remain fertile ground for the spread of fake news. How are Facebook and Telegram structured and what is their share of responsibility in manipulating information? We discussed these topics with the participants of the second module of the media course held within the “informMD – against misinformation in the Republic of Moldova” project.
The first module of the Transnistrian Dialogues, which took place on 18-19 September in the village of Costesti, Ialoveni district, was dedicated to the media industry. The group of participants of the Transnistrian Dialogues this time consists of 36 people, including young journalists, entrepreneurs, activists and students.

The overall goal of the project is to support the preservation of the Gagauz language and culture and to bridge the cultural and linguistic divide, growing mistrust and alienation between Gagauz-Yeri ATU and the rest of Moldova. Project objectives are: – Improve the understanding on the overall framework for the functioning of the Gagauz and Romanian languages in Gagauz-Yeri ATU. – Facilitate institutional collaboration between the key stakeholders to achieve sustainable improvement in the study of the Gagauz and Romanian language in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauz-Yeri. – Increase public awareness about the study of the Gagauz and Romanian languages in Gaguz-Yeri ATU. The project is designed to provide technical assistance to the Presidential Administration to lay the ground for anti-corruption, judiciary reforms and accountable government in Moldova, within the mandate of the Presidency, as well as establish strategic communication framework to ensure buy-in and demand for these reforms from the public, civil society, opinion leaders and legal professionals.
The project is implemented with the support of the Good Governance Fund of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The project aims at strengthening resilience against disinformation in the Republic of Moldova with capacity building measures for civil society. In addition, the project is focused on the mutual exchange of experience and expertise with Germany and other EU countries as well as the EaP countries.
The project is implemented by The Institut für Europäische Politik based in Berlin (IEP) in partnership with the Institute for Strategic Initiatives of Moldova (IPIS) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms of Moldova (IPRE) with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office.

A group of journalists took part in a preliminary presentation of the IPIS analysis on the process of managing the foreign funds received by the Moldovan government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
International loans provided in 2020 to Moldova by external partners kept the country’s budget afloat. In the form of loans, Moldova received 418 million euros, while non-repayable assistance amounted to about 33 million euros.

The purpose of the project is to foster a constructive engagement between experts, young activists, civil society and opinion leaders from Moldova and its Transnistrian region and the autonomous region of Gagauzia, to reduce tensions, increase mutual trust and understanding by setting up a permanent platform, thus laying the ground for a more consensus-based settlement process of the conflict and exercising upward influence. Implementation period July 2021 – January 2022.
