The representative of the NGO “Sigma-Expert” (Tiraspol), Iurie Ganin gave a lecture on “Leadership and ways to develop leadership”. The event took place online for the participants of the program “Transnistrian Dialogues: Women’s Edition”.
The second speaker of the program “Transnistrian Dialogues: women’s edition of Women” was Andrei Popov, Ambassador-at-Large (MFAEI). He gave a lecture on “Diplomacy and the Role of the International Community in Conflict Resolution.
The participants were able to learn about the macroeconomic situation on the two banks of the Nistru River and to discuss potential opportunities for developing their businesses in the region. They met with entrepreneurs who are already receiving grants for business development, but also, through practical sessions, benefited from mentoring in the development of business ideas.
The first speaker of the program was Olga Melniciuc, an expert in access to financial resources, who talked about how to empower women economically through fundraising and project management.
About 40% of Moldova’s population receives information from social networks, which, however, remain fertile ground for the spread of fake news. How are Facebook and Telegram structured and what is their share of responsibility in manipulating information? We discussed these topics with the participants of the second module of the media course held within the “informMD – against misinformation in the Republic of Moldova” project.
The first module of the Transnistrian Dialogues, which took place on 18-19 September in the village of Costesti, Ialoveni district, was dedicated to the media industry. The group of participants of the Transnistrian Dialogues this time consists of 36 people, including young journalists, entrepreneurs, activists and students.
The Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS) is a Moldovan NGO established in 2016, uniting professionals with diverse views. IPIS works to address Moldova’s strategic development challenges from a non-political, non-partisan perspective. IPIS expertise covers four areas: good governance; conflict settlement and inter-ethnic consolidation; public involvement and participatory government; communications. The overall goal of the project is to support the preservation of the Gagauz language and culture and to bridge the cultural and linguistic divide, growing mistrust and alienation between Gagauz-Yeri ATU and the rest of Moldova. Project objectives are: – Improve the understanding on the overall framework for the functioning of the Gagauz and Romanian languages in Gagauz-Yeri ATU. – Facilitate institutional collaboration between the key stakeholders to achieve sustainable improvement in the study of the Gagauz and Romanian language in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauz-Yeri. – Increase public awareness about the study of the Gagauz and Romanian languages in Gaguz-Yeri ATU. A group of journalists took part in a preliminary presentation of the IPIS analysis on the process of managing the foreign funds received by the Moldovan government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
International loans provided in 2020 to Moldova by external partners kept the country’s budget afloat. In the form of loans, Moldova received 418 million euros, while non-repayable assistance amounted to about 33 million euros.
